ABACUS DERMATOLOGY MANAGE is Hiring a Medical Receptionist Near Sartell, MN

Position Summary: 

We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our team! 

Responsible for providing a positive first impression of the practice to the patient by promptly answering and efficiently handling each call. Information resource for staff regarding patient status (late/cancelled/no-show/problematic). Performs a wide variety of administrative functions to support the entire office.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 1 years medical reception/front office experience.
  • Must have experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Must acquire a thorough working knowledge of JUVA.
  • Must be extremely organized. Must acquire knowledge of the policies and procedures of JUVA Skin & Laser Center.
  • Be able to communicate in English, both written and orally. Be a mature, pleasant adult, possessing exceptional communication skills.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities:

  • Possess a calm, reassuring, competent demeanor and the ability to be sensitive to patient needs and attitude.
  • Be capable of multi-tasking.
  • Be a mature, pleasant adult, conservative and tasteful in appearance, able to relate to the patient base.
  • Be capable of masking emotions and frustration when dealing with difficult situations and/or patients.
  • Be knowledgeable about services and products available at our facility.
  • Warmly and professionally greet patients and visitors. Notify personnel of arrival of patients.
  • Offer refreshments and amenities of atrium to assure positive experience.
  • Facilitate communication among office personnel concerned with each patient. Instruct patient on use of waiting room telephone and availability of educational videos.
  • Overall responsibility for cleanliness, neat and professional appearance, and availability of supplies in waiting room, check in/check out areas, and patient restroom. This includes neatness of magazines, availability of suitable brochures, adequate supply of business cards, attractive appearance of plants/fresh flowers, and generously-filled sample basket(s).
  • Answer all calls to the reception desk.
  • Accurately communicate information to patients and to staff in a concise manner.
  • Assist staff and visitors in placing outgoing calls, as appropriate and necessary. Screen calls in order to direct caller to appropriate staff.
  • Determine urgency of a patient's call and handle in accordance with office policy.
  • Be capable of answering general questions regarding the practice, physicians, procedures, insurance and cost in accordance with office policy.
  • Possess an understanding of the role of each staff members including titles, job responsibilities, titles, and duties to facilitate proper routing of each call.
  • Perform clerical functions as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintain current knowledge of activities, policies and procedures, and outreach/promotional activities (newspaper advertising, seminars, luncheons).
  • Participate in staff meetings; attend relevant educational activities at the request of supervisor.
  • Assist with medical records, as needed and as time permits, with chart preparation, filing, and typing of chart labels.
  • Check in patients.
  • Check accuracy of patient registration on existing patients and register new patients.
  • Prepare new patient charts as necessary.
  • Keep waiting room neat and attractively organized, assuring that coffee/tea/water service is tidy and that videos are well-displayed.
  • Check restrooms twice a day.
